A forty-two inch guardrail constructed of one-and-a-half-inch steel galvanized pipe is anchored to a cast-in-place retaining dock wall. Posts are spaced at four feet on-center maximum with a post-installed attachment to the concrete wall. Balusters are spaced to restrict a four-inch sphere from passing through. The guardrail is designed to resist a linear load of fifty pounds per linear foot in accordance with ASCE 7 and IBC 2015 codes. Guardrail is omitted where the retaining wall height is less than thirty inches.
