A six-inch steel pipe filled with concrete extends three feet six inches above the top of the paving or floor surface and is painted safety yellow. The pipe is welded to a ten-inch by ten-inch by one-quarter-inch base plate anchored with four five-eighths-inch diameter anchor bolts with washers. A one-quarter-inch neoprene pad sits beneath the assembly, and sealant is applied all around the base. An eight-inch thickened slab is provided at the bollard for new construction, while this requirement is removed at existing floors and paving.
