An exterior wall assembly utilizes eight-inch cold-formed metal framing studs with interior five-eighths-inch gypsum wall board and a vapor retarder. Cavity insulation consists of R-19 batt insulation installed between the studs. The exterior side features five-eighths-inch glass mat sheathing covered by a continuous air and moisture barrier. R-10 rigid insulation is secured over the barrier using Z-clip fasteners attached back to the framing studs, with an exterior EIFS finish.
