A six-inch diameter steel pipe is filled with concrete and finished with safety yellow paint, standing three feet six inches tall above the floor surface. The pipe is welded to a ten-inch square by one-quarter-inch thick steel base plate. Four five-eighths-inch diameter anchor bolts with washers secure the base plate to the concrete slab. A one-quarter-inch neoprene pad sits beneath the base plate with sealant applied all around. The supporting concrete slab is thickened to eight inches at the bollard location.
