Swinging doors require specific floor clearances on both the pull and push sides to maintain accessibility compliance. The pull side requires a minimum 60 inch depth and an 18 inch side clearance beyond the latch. The push side requires a minimum 48 inch depth with a 12 inch clearance provided when both a closer and latch are present. Doors located in alcoves deeper than 8 inches to the face of the door must comply with these front approach clearances.
