The metal stud wall bottom track rests on the top of the structural slab and is anchored using 0.145-inch shot pins embedded a minimum of one inch at 24 inches on center with a maximum of 6 inches from the ends. Vertical studs are attached with number 6 type S 1-1/8 inch screws with a minimum one inch embedment at 18 inches around the perimeter and 12 inches on center at intermediate studs. Continuous batt insulation fills the wall cavity between the interior gypsum board layers. Continuous acoustical sealant or firestop sealant is applied at the base joint where the wall finish meets the slab.
