The internally lit exit sign is powered by an emergency power system and remains illuminated at all times. The letter height measures six inches minimum, with stroke dimensions and spacing specified across the layout. Letter spacing requires a three-eighths-inch minimum. Stroke widths measure three-quarters-inch minimum, except for the letter "I" which requires a two-inch minimum.
