Ramp handrail and warning curb assemblies and dimensional requirements feature a top handrail positioned between thirty-four and thirty-eight inches above the ramp surface. A vertical rail is located beyond the handrail with a horizontal railing above an optional two-inch minimum curb. A forty-two inch minimum guardrail is required if the ramp is higher than thirty inches. A four-inch minimum high warning curb is required at ramps when a drop-off of more than six inches exists between the ramp surface and the adjacent grade, with a six-inch warning curb utilized where applicable. Adjacent walls or surfaces must remain free of sharp or abrasive elements, and pipe dimensions are specified as nominal diameter.
