An internally illuminated exit sign layout requires a minimum letter height of 6 inches with a 3/4 inch stroke width and a 3/8 inch minimum letter spacing except for the letter 'I', which maintains a 2 inch minimum separation. The sign must be connected to the emergency power system and remain continuously illuminated.
