A metal deflection track is secured to the underside of a concrete-filled metal deck using Hilti X-U low-velocity powder-actuated drive fasteners with a one and one-quarter inch minimum embedment. Two number twelve sheet metal screws spaced at sixteen inches on center fasten the flat strap and backing plate assembly to the deflection track. A sound attenuation blanket fills the interior cavity of the partition framing. Five-eighths-inch gypsum board layers finish the partition faces, while a scheduled gypsum board ceiling terminates alongside the wall.
