Shower controls and shower heads are installed at specific vertical heights measured from the finished floor line. The shower control area is positioned with a maximum mounting height of three feet two inches for Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, and four feet zero inches for standard installations. Shower heads are mounted at a height range of six feet zero inches to seven feet zero inches for standard configurations, and four feet six inches to four feet eight inches for children. An alternate ADA maximum mounting height of four feet zero inches with a children's control height of three feet nine inches is also specified.
