Exit sign lettering is defined by a minimum letter height of six inches with a three-quarter-inch minimum stroke clearance, two-inch minimum letter spacing except for the letter 'I', and a three-eighths-inch minimum spacing between letters. The sign requires internal illumination powered by an emergency power system and must remain illuminated at all times.
