An internally lit exit sign is powered by an emergency power system and remains illuminated at all times. The sign features letter heights of six inches minimum, letter stroke spacing of three-eighths inch minimum, side margins of three-quarters inch minimum, and stroke spacing of two inches minimum except for the letter "I".
