Exterior stair treads feature a contrasting color nosing acting as a slip-resistant stair tread at least two inches wide at all treads, with a positioning allowance of one inch maximum to two inches minimum from the edge. An AS-250 non-slip coating is applied along the full tread length typically, while risers remain free of non-slip coating typically. The stairs span between upper and lower landings.
