Two doors in series require a minimum forty-eight-inch clear distance between them to accommodate wheelchair turning and maneuverability. Side clearances require a minimum twelve to eighteen inches depending on the approach direction and hardware configuration. Additional clearance must be provided if any door is equipped with both a latch and closer.
