Rear and side wall grab bar installations are dimensioned relative to the water closet for compliance. The rear wall grab bar requires a minimum thirty-six inch length centered behind the water closet, positioned thirty-three to thirty-six inches above the finished floor. Side wall grab bars are positioned with the horizontal bar thirty-three to thirty-six inches above the finished floor and extending forty-two inches minimum from the rear wall, supplemented by a vertical grab bar located twelve inches maximum from the rear wall and extending eighteen inches minimum above the horizontal bar.
