The pull side requires a minimum sixty inch clearance perpendicular to the opening with a thirty six inch minimum clear width parallel to the door, or fifty four inches minimum with forty two inches respectively. The push side requires minimum dimensions designated as X and Y, where X is twelve inches minimum and Y is forty eight inches minimum when both a closer and latch are provided, and X is zero inches when neither is present.
