A cold-formed metal stud wall terminates below a structural steel beam using a minimum 43-mils slotted top track. The slotted track is secured to the underside of the steel beam flange with half-inch Hilti X-U power-driven fasteners spaced at 16 inches on center. Individual metal studs as scheduled fit inside the top track and are fastened on each side with number 10 sheet metal screws.
