An internally lit exit sign is powered by an emergency power system and remains illuminated at all times. The sign features letters with a minimum height of six inches and specific minimum spacing requirements, including three-eighths inch letter spacing, three-quarters inch border clearances, and a two-inch minimum except for the letter I.
