Tolco Figure 25 surge restraints are designed for use only with Tolco band hangers Figure 200 to restrain the upward movement of pipe as it occurs during sprinkler head activation or seismic activity. Type 1 is for 1-inch and 1-1/4-inch pipe and hanger, and Type 2 is for 1-1/2-inch and 2-inch pipe and hanger. Lateral restraints shall be located within 2 feet 0 inches of the hanger. This hanger shall be used along with vertical restraints.
