Fourteen-gauge steel brackets are spaced at twenty-four inches on center with a maximum projection of one foot two inches. Each bracket is secured to a continuous sixteen-gauge backing plate using two number ten sheet metal screws. The continuous backing plate is twelve inches high and fastened to the wood studs with three number ten wood screws at each stud, maintaining a one and one-half inch minimum embedment.
