The pump base rail rests on a concrete pad with an approximate one-inch gap for shims totaling one inch in thickness, placed on both sides of each anchor bolt as a means of leveling the base. Foundation bolts are set inside pipe sleeves within the concrete pad and secured with a washer. Non-shrinking grout is poured into the pump base, grouting only to the top of the base rail and allowing the grout to flow around hold-down lugs to keep shims in place.
