A structural steel beam connection frames into an existing concrete wall across a new seismic joint. An existing wide flange beam connects to the concrete wall, with portions marked for removal per the plan. The connection utilizes a continuous angle and channel sections including an MC4x13.8 and a C4x7.2 measuring 0 feet 7 inches long, joined with a 3/8-inch by 2-inch by 0-foot 5-inch plate and 1/4-inch fillet welds. Three-quarter-inch diameter adhesive anchors with 11 1/4-inch embedments secure the framing members, spaced at 24 inches on center with 1 1/2-inch edge distances typical at each end. The assembly interfaces with the existing concrete slab beyond and accommodates a 1 1/2-inch seismic joint gap.
