A Tolco 980 attachment clamp secures a brace to the flange of a steel I-beam using a steel bolt tightened until the break-off bolt head shears off. A maximum distance of two and one-half inches is maintained from the bolt attachment to the beam edge. Torque is applied according to the schedule based on bolt size, specifying forty-nine foot-pounds for one-half-inch bolts, ninety-seven foot-pounds for five-eighths-inch bolts, and one hundred seventy-three foot-pounds for three-quarter-inch bolts. Spray fire protection is repaired after attachment.
