A structural steel angle profile L3x3x1/4 acts as the pit frame, secured with one-half-inch diameter by six-inch welded headed studs spaced at twelve inches on center. Number four adhesive dowels with four-inch embedment and standard ninety-degree hook ends tie the pit wall into the existing concrete slab-on-grade at twelve inches on center. A vapor barrier laps and tapes directly to the existing assembly beneath the slab. The subgrade preparation beneath the pit base is executed per the geotechnical report.
