An 18 gauge metal roof deck supports a P 1000 Unistrut channel spanning across three flutes minimum, secured with two number 12 by 3/4 inch self-tapping screws per flute typically. A three-eighths inch all-thread rod is anchored into the Unistrut using a three-eighths inch spring nut tightened to a required torque of 19 foot-pounds. The rod extends down to an Anvil Figure 69 swivel hanger ring holding a maximum one-inch pipe, equipped with an Afcon AF310 surge restraint or screw with the rod tight to the top of the pipe. The all-thread rod is spaced at six feet maximum.
