A sprinkler pipe is suspended from the bottom flange of a steel beam using a Tolco Fig. 65 beam clamp with a lock nut and a 3/8-inch adjustable threaded rod for pipes up to 4 inches or a 1/2-inch rod for 6-inch pipes. A Tolco Fig. 69 retaining strap wraps over the top flange of the beam for seismic restraint, and a Tolco Fig. 200 ARH pipe hanger cradles the sprinkler pipe. A separate sway brace detail shows a Tolco Fig. 909 EQB fitting attached to a 1-inch Schedule 40 pipe brace with a maximum length of 7 feet, connected to a Tolco Fig. 4LA pipe clamp on the main pipe at a minimum angle of 75 degrees. General notes permit hanger orientation from either the top or bottom of the beam and require a Tolco Fig. 25 surge restrainer when used at the end of a branchline.
