An automatic air relief valve assembly connects to the top of the sprinkler piping at the highest elevation of the sprinkler system. The piping runs through a one-half inch ball valve with a tamper switch for electronic supervision of the shutoff valve via normally closed contacts. A one-half inch Y-type forty mesh strainer, union connection, and air vent complete the inline components above a water retention pan equipped with a pan drain plug and a one-half inch national pipe thread connection to a drain pipe.
