A Tolco Fig. 980 sway brace attachment is installed to restrain seismic or lateral loads on piping systems suspended from overhead structural channels. The assembly connects to the structural member using dedicated fastening hardware while gripping the pipe securely with a looped brace component. Installers must maintain a minimum two and a half inch clearance and a maximum two inch spacing according to the plan and elevation views. The brace must not be bent past ninety degrees during installation.
