A W6X20 beam connection utilizes a 3/8 inch by 4 1/2 inch by 0 feet-6 1/2 inch A36 steel shear plate fastened with two three-quarter-inch A325N bolts at the end of the beam. A separate connection detail features a W27 or smaller supporting member utilizing flange plates measuring 13/16 inch by 12 1/4 inch and a half-inch web plate, with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds indicated at intersecting steel elements. Shear plate and bolt sizes are otherwise referenced to the structural schedule for typical conditions. Spacing dimensions are provided for bolt holes, edge distances, and plate clearances.
