An automatic air vent is connected at the sprinkler system high point using a six-inch threaded union, a forty-mesh strainer, and a six-inch ball valve. The assembly incorporates a Potter PAV air vent or similar UL and FM approved model, with a six-inch drain routed to the exterior.
