A one-inch schedule forty brace pipe connects a fire sprinkler pipe to an overhead structural steel beam using specialized seismic bracing components. A Tolco Figure 980 universal beam attachment fastens to the beam flange via a half-inch bolt with a maximum distance of three inches from the structural connection. At the lower end, a Tolco Figure 1001 sway brace clamp secures the brace pipe to the sprinkler piping. The brace assembly is installed at an angle between forty-five and fifty-nine degrees, with a maximum brace pipe length of seven feet.
