An HSS6x6x3/8 hollow structural section connects to a 3/4-inch by 18-inch by 1-foot-6-inch embed plate set flush in a concrete wall. The embed plate is anchored by four 1/2-inch diameter by 7-inch A108 headed studs welded into the concrete. The structural steel tube is welded to the embed plate with a quarter-inch fillet weld on the flats only on all sides.
