A pipe passes vertically through a concrete floor slab and metal deck via a six-inch galvanized pipe sleeve. The annular space around the pipe contains fiberglass insulation and backer rod, sealed at the perimeter with a quarter-inch gap filled with acoustical sealant on both sides. Firestopping material is installed at rated floors on both sides of the assembly, supplemented by waterproof caulk on waterproof floors and optional pipe insulation.
