An automatic air release valve connects to a four-inch main at the system high point per NFPA 13 section 8.16.6. A four-inch main extends to the second floor, while a two-inch branch line feeds sprinklers in the stair. A flexible coupling is installed within two feet of the top of the riser above a four-way brace to the wall. Another four-way brace is positioned at the top of the riser below the flexible coupling. A ten-inch exterior alarm bell operates on 120 VAC. A lower four-inch main feeds the first floor and includes a flexible coupling within two feet of the connection.
