A vertical pipe penetrates a concrete floor slab or composite metal deck floor assembly through a six-inch galvanized pipe sleeve. The annular space contains fiberglass insulation and a backer rod, sealed at both sides with firestopping material at rated floors or acoustical sealant in a one-quarter-inch perimeter gap. A galvanized floor plate is secured at the top of the sleeve and sealed with waterproof caulk on waterproof floors only. Pipe insulation is applied where required along the vertical run.
