A galvanized pipe sleeve passes through a framed drywall partition with metal studs and gypsum board. The annular space contains fiberglass insulation wrapped around the pipe, backed by backer rod at both perimeters. A one-quarter-inch gap around the perimeter is filled with acoustical sealant on both sides. Firestopping material is applied at rated walls on both sides. A minimum twenty-two-gauge sheet metal angle ring is secured to the sleeve, and an optional escutcheon plate covers exposed areas on one or both sides where required.
