This connection plan details a W21X83 steel beam framing into a column per plans with an A36 cap plate matching the flange thickness and sized two inches larger than the column width. Ten three-quarter-inch A325N high-strength bolts secure each beam connection. One-half-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column web aligned with the beam flanges. One-half-inch beam plates are also provided on each side of the beam web for the moment connection.
