The backflow preventer assembly connects underground supply piping to interior fire suppression lines using OS&Y gate valves with tamper switches furnished by others. The flanged piping runs through a concrete pad, with a minimum twelve-inch clearance and a two-gang weatherproof box connected via one-half-inch seal-tight flexible conduit. Concrete thrust blocks secure the underground pipe bends against hydraulic shock. The module for the OS&Y valve is designated for indoor mounting, with these details provided for reference.
