An HSS6x6x3/8 structural steel member connects to a concrete wall via a three-quarter-inch by eighteen-inch by one-foot six-inch steel embed plate. Four half-inch diameter by seven-inch long ASTM A108 headed studs anchor the embed plate into the concrete wall. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the HSS member to the embed plate on all flat sides typically, with welds omitted at the corner radii.
