An in-duct smoke detector head mounts directly onto the ductwork with a pancake box, connected via raceways to a 4S deep junction box above and a 4S deep box with a single gang switch ring and remote LED below the ceiling. In-duct detectors are UL listed for a velocity range of zero to four thousand feet per minute. Ductwork requires an access panel adjacent to the smoke detector, and a minimum twenty-four by twenty-four inch access door or hatch is provided in the ceiling directly below the detector.
