A one-inch schedule forty brace pipe connects the sprinkler pipe to the wood framing at an angle between forty-five and fifty-nine degrees. The lower end utilizes a Tolco figure one thousand one sway brace clamp fitting secured with a two-inch minimum extension. The upper end anchors to a structural member at least four inches wide using a Tolco figure nine hundred ten sway brace attachment fitting and a three-quarter-inch through-bolt. A metal plate washer is installed between the wood and the bolt head per National Design Specification section twelve point one point three point three. The bolt head is tightened until it bottoms out against the fitting.
