A Sammy Sidewinder Model SWG 200 side-mount anchor fastens into the side of a wood member to support fire sprinkler piping. A 3/8-inch all-thread rod suspends an adjustable ring hanger from the anchor. The wood member requires a minimum width of 1-1/2 inches for pipes up to 3 inches, and a minimum width of 2-1/2 inches for 4-inch pipes. The anchor must maintain a minimum distance of 2-1/2 inches from the bottom of the wood member for branch lines and 3 inches for main lines, with an exception for 2-inch or thicker nailing strips resting on top of steel beams.
