A beam per plan connects to an HSS column per plan using an L6x4x1/2 by 0'-6" long vertical leg vertical slot angle on each side of the HSS column. A 1-inch diameter thru-bolt passes through standard holes in the angle and a vertical long slotted hole in the HSS column. Five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds attach the angles on each side. Additional five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the connection where the HSS column is narrower than the beam.
