A single-sided, single-tier pre-galvanized steel J-hook, comparable to the B-Line series BCH with sizes varying from 3/4 inch to 1-5/16 inches, is secured directly to an 18-gauge metal stud spaced at 16 inches on center. The J-hook is fastened using one number 12 self-drilling self-tapping screw spaced every 48 inches nominal. The wall assembly is finished with 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board on both sides.
