An HSS beam frames into the web of a wide flange beam via an extended full-depth shear plate welded to the HSS member. Three 7/8-inch diameter bolts secure the connection through the shear tab and beam web. The top of the HSS beam aligns two inches below the top of the wide flange beam to accommodate the concrete over metal deck floor assembly.
