A lightning protection down conductor runs from the roof through a one-inch schedule forty polyvinyl chloride conduit embedded within the exterior wall assembly. The conductor connects to the roof lightning protection system via a through-roof cable connector, with a secondary bond provided to the roof flashing. The roofing contractor seals the roof penetration. The electrical contractor furnishes and installs the conduit, including pull tape and caps at each end. At the base of the wall, the conduit exits through a sleeve and seal provided by the general contractor, twenty-four inches above the grade, before connecting to the building ground system.
