An underground communications duct bank is installed below finished grade with a minimum depth of thirty-six inches. The assembly consists of four-inch Schedule 40 PVC conduits embedded in a six-inch sand bed, spaced three inches apart typically. An underground line warning tape is placed six to nine inches below the finished grade.
