This concrete slab-on-grade detail features a thickness 't' concrete slab with a saw-cut control joint measuring one-eighth inch wide by a quarter of the slab depth deep. A Class A vapor retarder meeting ASTM E1745-97 is placed directly beneath the slab in accordance with ASTM E1643-98. Below the vapor retarder lies a four-inch layer of drain rock requiring gradation per the geotechnical report. The subbase consists of a minimum of six inches of moisture-conditioned and compacted scarified soil resting on undisturbed soil.
