A 2x4 recessed lighting fixture is supported by T-bar main runners secured with four total number 6 TEKS screws in compliance with ICC ESR-1976. Each corner of the fixture is hung from the overhead structure using number 12 American Wire Gauge steel wire with a minimum of three turns in 1-1/2 inches, coordinated with architectural drawings for structural attachment. A lighting fixture outlet junction box is mounted directly to the structure above the fixture for independent seismic installation and is left unshared with other fixtures. Electrical power is supplied through an EMT conduit to the junction box and fed to the fixture via a 6-foot centered flexible conduit with a grounding conductor, allowing the fixture to swing freely during seismic activity without pulling out from the T-bar track.
